Re: Warlords Stronghold (Diplomacy)
An old frail man enters. The guards almost kick him out of the hall by his looks, but they notice his crimson robe. He was a Spartan. Behind him come two strong, young escorts. The old man walks up to the commanding guard and asks:
May I speak to your king?
May I speak to your king?

Re: Warlords Stronghold (Diplomacy)
Following the old Spartan was a fairly old man as well. His hair was gray and fading white due to age. Instead of crimson, he had a plain white robe with a silk shawl around his face, his dark skin showed he was no natural Greek. Behind him were a tall strong Greek Hoplitai and a dark skinned Carthaginian warrior.
I hail from Sicily and am the voice of the Free People's Republic, may I also be allowed to speak with your leader?

The guards stand there still for a few moments. Taunts can be heard from the less disciplined guards but the main guard silences them before responding.
'Be quick, Spartan.'
As the second diplomat approaches they are greeted in a different manner. They nod to the man and respond.
'Welcome, when the Spartan is done you may speak with my leader'

The old man grins at the undisciplined soldiers.
No worry, my people are known for little use of words. My king sent me to discuss the issue of Macedonian "Greeks" to the north.

The main guard escorts them into the stronghold and inform the king of why they were here. Bardylis's guards laugh as they hear this but Bardylis does not and waits till their banter is over.
'Spartan, Macedonians are no Greeks, they are far worst than your kind. Snakes and sheep is what they are, I will crush them as soon as my nation has made the necessary plans. What is it you want on the matter, Spartan?'

The young Spartans around the man stare down the guards, and place their hands on their swords. The old man waves them off.
Yes..your nation might be adequately strong, even disregarding your undisciplined soldiers, but you forget to realize they are allied with Thebes, Athens, and Epirus. I'll also look over the irony of Greeks being worse than barbarians, but king tread slowly, you need at least one Greek on your side. My nation is offering our aid to you, but will only give this once. Choose wisely.

Re: Warlords Stronghold (Diplomacy)
Bardylis looks at the man and responds to his comments quickly.
'Undisciplined is a strong word, hateful of any Greeks, now that sounds more like my soldiers. Now, Macedon may have allies but when Athens send her men what will your nation do? Or when Thebes? They leave their hind open to attack, they are not foolish. And as for Epirus, let them come. What threat are they? So a Greek on my side is not what I need. If you wish to join us on our warpath you follow, you Greeks do not understand that concept well though.'

We will do what we do best, barbarian: war. We've defeated the Athenians before and will again.
And northerner, we taught the Macedonians how to fight during the Peloponnese War. Good luck.

Re: Warlords Stronghold (Diplomacy)
As my Carthaginian envoy waits with his guards, he sends one (Of Carthaginian descent, so he won't get jumped.) To, quote, "get wine and bread from the market." He does this, but detours around the capitol to get a good view of its layout, the port with the ships, barracks', walls, etc. All of which is done so according to Dardanian rules. (If he got too close to a do not pass area he backed off.) Essentially he just made a mental map of the city available to an average citizen.
I say this out of RP context so you guys can know, but in game the guard would return with wine and bread and no one is the wiser.

Re: Warlords Stronghold (Diplomacy)
Bardylis laughs now initiating a wave of laughter from the hall. He takes his sword up and starts to wield.
'So you taught them how to fight aye? You accredit yourself with that? You merely taught a rabble how to pick up arms. *drops the sword* Do you like us to continue this banter or do you have any real and fair deals to make?'
The king sees the emissary of FPS waiting for a while so he sends out his adviser Agron.
'Hello, what is it you need?'

The Carthaginian emissary bows deeply. "Greetings great King. I come from the Republic to offer trade in the hopes of our people's future to be one of peace."

No, we are done. But is best you leave that sword on the ground, for you do not know how to use it.
The old man signals his two bodyguards and they saunter off.

'You have no clue, Greek'
Bardylis annoyed by the waste off breath makes his way to the FPS emissary.

"Basic Trading Rights, fairly of course. The Republic's Navy can defend the trade route if necessary."
Trade is 100,000 per trade route right?
