Declaration of War!

Bardylis has called a declaration of war against the Kingdom of Macedonia. Many months of planing with his advisers for the moment, but they believe their nation is prepared.

Bardylis has called all Illyrian tribes on to the warpath to crush the common foe, and any other nation who has their quarrels with the Macedonians.

(Basically I wanted something to happen, all troops are prepared for an invasion along with other Macedonian hating Illyrian tribes. Could Aggy chose any npc tribes who join?)

The Free People's look towards this conflict with a passing interest.

OOC: I just realized Sparta wasn't hated by Thebes and Macedon yet in 400 B.C.

Sparta will stand neutral for now.

An admin (Me or Cookie I guess) can use a dice roller to determine how many Illyrian tribes join in. Get a list of potential tribes and we;ll roll, let's say over 55 joins?

King Bardylis sends out his diplomats and messengers to all Illyrian tribes. Almost immediately, the Taulantii show up outside Bardylis' capital, full army and all. They have brought their own banners, but for this campaign they have chosen their main banner to be Dardania's sigil. Following them were the Dyestes and Labeates who also came in full vigor. The three Chieftains of these tribes pledge full support to King Bardylis.
As the days went by (Full of feasting for the campaign) the Ardiaei and Dassareti finally arrived, with partial armies at the best, messages from their leaders saying they support the Dardanian Kingdom but are not willing to give them the entirety of their army.
After many more days of waiting, the Grabaei show up; a pitiful force if anything else. They bring news that the Pathini refuse to participate while the Enchelei are a Macedonian vassal and have pledged their support to the "Skirt wearing cowards" of Macedon.

Bardylis prepared all the men. Plans were simple:
Slash way through territory letting Illyrians ravage any villages they pass till they reach Pella. On arrival they will probably be confronted, they will try to claim any high ground. After main battle if successful Illyrians will lay siege to Pella. If not the Illyrians will try to regroup, if defeat is too bad they will fall back ravaging anything they see in their way.(Their aim is to cause as much damage as possible, if they can not win)

The King of Macedon, Perdicaas II has rallied his nation against the Illyrian savages. His army consists of professionals as well as levies, the cavalry of Macedon is assembled. He has always brought in a great number of Thracians to aid his defence.

The Dardanian warriors followed by the fellow Illyrians had a fierce warcry, the Macedonians could hear the taunts and rants of the enemy. Blood is what they had come for, and Bardylis was ready to crush his old time foes.
